Case study:
Hft is a charity established in 1962 by a group of visionary parents to support learning disabled people across England and Wales. Services range from supported living and personalised support to campaigning for change and fundraising for new opportunities to deliver impact. The support Hft provides allows learning disabled people to experience life to the full.
Allia C&C began working with the new management team at Hft after a challenging period for the organisation, that included the impact of the covid pandemic. This had resulted in a stressed financial position and a change in senior staff.
Our role was to work with the Management team to build a financial plan that would be shared with lenders to assist with the long-term strategy of Hft.
This resulted in us carrying out a bank tender exercise for Hft that was completed in December 2025.
The bank tender exercise resulted in Hft completing a loan offer with an established charity bank on competitive terms and for a loan term that provided funding certainty to the organisation.
This resulted in Hft being able to repay some existing high priced debt and provided flexibility in the early years around capital repayments to support the cashflow needs of the business.
